Belmopan
Independence Plaza is the center of town. Most of government
offices, including the prime minister's office, Post Office and
administrative buildings, are located at the plaza. Pedestrian
walkways which connect to business and residential areas.
Next to
the plaza is the "Market Square" where much of the local
commerce takes place. Open most days, vendors sell everything
from tropical fruits and tomalleys to Mennonite watermelons and
copycat designer jewelry.
