Jaguar
Paw Jungle Lodge is a totally unique resort hidden beneath rainforest
canopy on the Caves Branch River with one of Belizes largest
and most renowned cave systems only steps from its front door. On
the 200-acres of Jaguar Paw are the mouths of three awesome caves
with vestiges of their use by Mayan ancestors.
With guests
in boats or wearing inner tubes, experienced guides lead the way
through the labyrinth of waterways connecting the caves. But without
getting their feet wet guests aided by a knowledgeable guide can
stalk the jungle paths for signs of wild animals, to spot some of
the more than 500 species of birds, to recognize the medicinal herbs,
and to hear about the jungle ghosts from the Belizean Bushmen who
believe in them. And, not far in either direction from the resort
are ancient ruins awaiting exploration.
